Bevagna
Bevagna
Bevagna, old medieval town with numerous and important Roman ruins. The Major attractions are: the wonderful square Piazza Silvestri, palazzo dei Consoli (1270), which hosts the Theatre Torti, the romanic churches of San Silvestro and San Michele, both dating back to the end of XII secolo, the church of San Domenico and Giacomo (1291). In the upper part of the town there is the church of Saint Francescis (End XIII century): next to the altar, there is the stone where Saint Francis stood when preaching to the birds in Pian d’Arca.
In June, do not miss the festival known as Mercato delle Gaite, a wonderful re-enactment of old medieval markets and crafts.
