From our Counrty House you can admire the lovely hill where the little town of Montefalco is situated; Montefalco is famous for its Sagrantino and its stunning views, that is why it is called “Terrace over Umbria”.
Among the most interesting attractions: the church of San Francesco, today a museum, built by the minor friars between 1335 and 1338, the Pinacoteca, with works of Art by Francesco Melanzio, Antoniazzo Romano and paintings of the Umbrian school from ‘300 to ‘700, the cripta, with archeological rests and other sculptures of different ages. The medieval village of Montefalco is still surrounded by its ancient walls dating back to 1200. Another important attraction to visit is the church of Sant’Agostino, built together with the convent in the second half of XIII century.
Famous August Festival in Montefalco: a historic festival dating back to the end of XV century. The citizens of Montefalco bring to life scenes of the Renaissance and they fight for the prize which is a gold Falk. The festival consists of several challenges: the escape of the ox, the crossbow shot and a relay race. Beautiful parade and flag show at the end of the festival.
