Santa Croce
Two-Room Apartment – “Santa Croce”
First-floor apartment with a living room featuring a fireplace and a double sofa bed. It offers one bedroom with either a double bed or two single beds, and a private bathroom.
The apartment takes its name from a “Cross” (Croce) located on the boundary between our estate and the road leading to the hamlet of Casco dell’Acqua. It was erected on a simple brick base in the early 1900s, during the period known as le missioni, with the purpose of sanctifying remote and picturesque places in the countryside.
This iron cross is unique for the farm tools — such as pliers and a hammer — hanging from it, symbolizing the agricultural origins of the hamlet.
The villagers are so devoted to this “Santa Croce” that, during the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes in May, the procession carrying the Madonna reaches the Cross before continuing along the road that passes right in front of our Country House.
